Leah Bostrom, certified health coach and founder of Chia Leah, is passionate about fueling a healthy lifestyle through nutrition education and her Clean Eats product line.  She’ll share easy tips and techniques on how we can upgrade our health this spring by adding in foods that fight inflammation and boost immunity, and unexpected lifestyle habits to improve longevity.

Dahlias are stunning flowers to grow and cut for beautiful floral arrangements.  At her Wisconsin farm, Choosing Calm, Winnetka gardener Karin Fink, grows distinctive dahlias from tubers gathered all over the world.  She will share with us step by step tips for growing dahlias in our own gardens.

Botanical art combines scientific observation and artistic expression.  Claudia Lane is President of the American Society of Botanical Artists, on the faculty of the Chicago Botanic Garden, and past president of Garden Club of Evanston.  She will discuss her evolution from floral designer to accomplished botanical artist.

Controlled use of fire is a key feature of prairie and forest stewardship, including our own Bell Woods and Crow Island Woods.  Jack Pizzo, founder of Pizzo and Associates, will share how prescribed burns improve wildlife habitat, welcome pollinators, and reduce invasive species, while restoring and maintaining native plant life.
