Show of Summer
Six Chicago-area garden clubs present this competitive exhibition.

Six Chicago-area garden clubs affiliated with the Garden Club of America (GCA) present the competitive exhibition at the Chicago Botanic Garden. Every three years, one of the six  Garden Club of America clubs in The Chicago Council oversees this exciting event.

As one of the eight major flower shows in The Garden Club of America, Show of Summer allows the public to view the results of members’ competition in the areas of flower arranging, horticulture, botanical arts, and photography.  More than 100 GCA members, representing dozens of GCA clubs around the country, compete in each Show of Summer. Exhibits are judged and awards presented. Show of Summer also seeks to educate the public about environmental issues.

The six Chicago-area garden clubs affiliated with GCA are the Garden Club of Barrington, Garden Club of Evanston, Garden Guild of Winnetka, Kenilworth Garden Club, Lake Forest Garden Club, and the Winnetka Garden Club.
